Rich Robinson was Great, but now…. What Next?

By Adam

If you had the chance to hear from Rich Robinson during his recent visit, there are two sorts of questions you may have.  Firstly you may have some questions about various aspects of the framework, concepts and tools that were presented.  We want to be a resource where you can get some answers to those questions so please don’t hesitate to contact us (here).

Secondly you may be asking what I should do next in my church.  It is only natural that as pastors and leaders that we respond in this way because we want our churches to flourish.  However, since discipleship involves imitation and not just information transfer, it is important for us first to think about how we are going to integrate what we have begun to learn into our own lives so others then have something to imitate.   I have found that gaining my own experiences with the discipling tools and beginning to develop more of my own missional lifestyle have been vital first steps to seeing them develop in my church community.

However, we also need access to people to imitate.  That is why we recommend pastors and leaders consider being part of a huddle led by someone who has had experience living with these tools and concepts and using them in their own ministry settings.  People have already expressed interest in this and we are currently working to connect people into huddles led by people from 3dmUK or by Australian based practitioners.  These huddles will involve 4-6 leaders from different church settings and will probably meet fortnightly on Skype or Google Hangouts due to geographic dispersion.  If you want to explore this further, please contact us (here).

Finally, we have found it helpful to have additional connections with experts from 3dm and to connect with other local churches that are on a similar journey.  So we have started planning another visit by 3dm personnel in November 2012 and we are looking to develop the network of Australian churches.
